Joan Isaac - A Margalida
Unforgettable song written by Joan Isaac and dedicated to Margalida, Salvador Puig Antich's lover. Salvador Puig Antich was a catalan anarchist executed by Franco's fascist regime in 1974, when he was only 25. He will be forever remembered as the last political prisoner to be executed in Spain (by the garrote). Isaac Stern plays Ravel's Tzigane
Stern is not one of my favorite violinists (lacks imagination often times). However, this is definitely one of my favorite recordings of the Tzigane (Stern also has a great Lalo too). Full of life and passion, just what I love hearing from a violinist. Tags: classical violin music Isaac Stern Ravel Tzigane |

Isaac Stern: Speech; From Mao to Mozart (Ending)
Isaac Stern making an inspiring speech, with footage alternating between his masterclasses and an stirring performance of the Brahms Violin Concerto. A very young, then-undiscovered Wang Jian plays the Eccles in the credits. Me playing Asturias Leyenda by Isaac Albeniz at a classical music competition at our university. Please do not argue that the piano version is better or that the guitar version is better. Asturias (Leyenda) by Isaac Albeniz
Hello everyone I don't think I will be making any more youtube classical guitar videos (if I do it will be quite rare). I am going to Turkey in a week and I will sell the guitar I used for my recordings before that. My original guitar isn't suitable to make recordings (until I get it fixed) because of it's tilted neck and overly high action - it is torture to play it. Besides, I have devoted a lot of time to youtube these last couple of months, and I definitely won't have that luxury available for me anymore. Honestly, I started using youtube because (given my current and recent circumstances) there was no other way for me to share classical guitar with other people. I have been playing for many years now, but all those years I was either playing to myself in my room or playing to a few people who really had no familiarity with classical guitar. Not to mention I haven't had an instructor for 10 years now (I started playing about 12 years ago). The time I spent on youtube turned out to be a very rewarding and liberating experience for me, thanks to all the feedback from and interaction with many people around the world. I have learned so much about myself and my perspective of life has changed. I am so, so grateful to all the friends I made over here for their kindness, support, and willingness to share music with me. Thank you everyone! (Including - in a random order - HotlineHarry, ysabellabrave, januthin, dengelikedi, csybu, zadigjaja, CemGunenc , dramorez, watercolour, svindland, alwaysdreams, siyahkelebek, AcronoxParadigm, ovidiov, AndanteLargo, beyamca, drumsmth9, hacibaba00, fede1886, utkudalmaz, dantesque1, TonyMorris, odalager, zazzidog, Melfriendof, itaatsiz, Abs0lutGuitar, Mod74, Lotrkhan, kurichan26, soloist21, compelled2283, barisaquarius, jimmyp37, bobw25, shapurII, Segovia69) I hope to do other things with classical guitar and music in general in the future. ------------------- A comment on this video: I could have played a little slower and with less flaws. The reason I played it so fast is because youtube doesn't let me upload files larger than 100mb, and with this speed the file turns out to be barely less than 100mb. Isaac Asimov - Ordenadores
Tags: asimov ordenadores computadoras discurso |
