MGS Soldier Stupidity 3 You wanted it, I wanted it, and here it is. The third, and arguably best, installment in the MGSSS ( Metal Gear Solid Soldier Stupidity) series. Doing what I do best: making idiots out of the guards in MGS1-3! This video... it... it has something special. Something unexpected. Wait, what's that feeling, again? I think that's the feeling of accomplishment. But why? This whole project gave me the absolute worst video editing experience you could imagine. But it still had its pros. Scripting the video was a little... I can't find the word, but, I opened up Microsoft Word, and started to type out a script of things to do, things not to do, things to do while doing things, etc. That didn't get far. I couldn't really think of anything just sitting at the computer, so I started to just play. And I got some excellent footage, some intentional and some not. Recording and uploading was straightforward. But, like Snake watching the Shagohod propelling itself out of the water after sniping a C4-rigged bridge to oblivion, I knew the worst has yet to come. I was right. So I started up good ol' Sony Vegas 7. Unfortunately, 1 minute into the movie, the program started crashing. At random. Then, my free trial ran out so I had to talk with some friends about other programs-- one thing led to another and I got myself a copy of Sony Vegas 6. That went well, but when I was about finished with the movie and was saving... It crashed. Randomly. In the less-than-one-second that it takes to save, the goddamn thing crashed. It screwed up the movie file, screwed up some music files, and then some. I was pretty down, but I knew that all that effort couldnt go to waste. So I completely re-did the movie, it ended up better and more well-rounded this time. I was satisfied. Then came the next problem. Successfully saving the movie. You see, there's a little thing called virtual memory. In a nutshell, if virtual memory runs out, your programs are messed. That means your saving procedure is terminated, and you feel like terminating anyone nearby. Again, more improvising, googling, and eventually, THANK GOD, I finally, finally finished this project. As I'm typing this I can still feel the painful memories stitched into my mind. But ultimately, I think it was worth it.
