Rising food prices spark unrest in Cameroon - 16 May 08 In west Africa, the rising cost of basic foodstuffs is leading to political and civil unrest as well as threatening millions with hunger. Perhaps the most serious unrest has occurred in Cameroon - at least 47 people were killed in food prices related violence.
